Wow, just wow! I really don’t know how to start this weeks email as so much has happened to the world this past couple of weeks and has changed things as we know it forever. I am confident things will start to get better and I am staying positive. I am looking at every situation that is currently presenting itself to me and trying to see the benefit of it (it’s difficult sometimes, but I’m trying!!) At the minute, like everybody else, I’m on a steep learning curve! I hope that each and every one of you are staying safe, listening to the government guidelines and looking after everybody close to you. Like I said in my email earlier in the week we are here for you and my offer to help any you in any way I can, however small, will stand for as long as this situation continues. Please pick up the phone and call 07813 809560 if you need anything or just want a chat to a familiar, friendly voice! This past week, like I’m sure it has with all you, made me appreciate everything. I feel very privileged to be part of a community like Llanwern Golf Club and the actions of members over the past week has been nothing short of incredible. I’m sure you have all seen the email from our Finance Director Chris Rippon. The amount of people phoning up to pay their subs this week has been nothing short of amazing. On that note I would like to thank each and every one of you for supporting the golf club at this time, without you we do not have a club and on behalf of all the staff and directors, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I would also like to thank the Directors for their work during this incredibly difficult time for acting fast, professionally and doing everything within their powers to keep things going. Also I would like to thank Julian, Gareth and his team and obviously not forgetting my main man Scottie for all of their help. We have a great collective team at Llanwern with the best members. I will shortly be offering you all free golf tips and am in the process of setting up a practice station in my garden (just need to cut the grass first). Stay tuned. Let’s hope we can get back out on the fairways soon and have this virus as a distant memory. |
