Coronavirus update
We had an emergency board meeting on Tuesday and all decisions made were made with both members, visitors and staff's health and wellbeing in mind. The Board of Directors has made every effort under the guidance and advice given by our governing bodies, to keep the facility open for as long as possible.
Please, please, please help us to keep the club open by (paying your membership fees!) adhering to the procedures laid out in the notice below and showing support in any way you can. We need you now more than ever and need everybody to come together to show what being a member of Llanwern Golf Club is really all about. Here are a few guidelines/procedures we have put in place at the club. - We would urge all golfers to come dressed for golf and to change shoes in the car park and minimise the amount of time in the clubhouse (please take clubs out of lockers and keep in your car).
- Social distancing should be adhered to at all times in accordance with the advice given by our governing bodies
- All bunkers rakes will be removed for the foreseeable future with members being asked to smooth surfaces with their feet.
- Ball washers will be removed
- Golfers are urged to leave the flag in the hole (to avoid unnecessary contact with it).
- All benches are out of use
- Shoe cleaners will be disconnected and out of use.
- Players should mark their own card if taking one and take it away with them – do not leave in the clubhouse, shop or anywhere on the premises.
- Pro Shop will remain open to receive green fee payments and any other purchases – payment by card only (no cash)
- Max 4 people in the shop at one time
- Please follow the arrows (it’s like IKEA!) on the floor to flow around the shop in one direction.
It is our intention to continue ‘golf as normal under the conditions listed above’. We are monitoring daily government advice and inevitably circumstances will change. Our number one priority is the health and welfare of all members, staff and guests and it is imperative that all individuals follow the government guidance on ‘Social Distancing’ and ‘Self Isolation’. Thank you for your continued co-operation in what are unprecedented times.
