Father and son in Sunningdale

This week Young Jack and Dad Crunch travelled to play in the Sunningdale Foursomes Event which is a fantastic event to be a part of.

Unfortunately, Team JD lost on the 18th Hole. Jack said he had a wonderful with Dad on the course and they were very unlucky.

A historic evening...

Tuesday the 10th March we held our annual Men’s Past Captains and Committee Dinner. A great turnout for this special occasion with Club Captains dating back from 1995 attending.

Treat Your Feet - The average round of golf takes at least 4 hours. This is a long time to be in any pair of shoes. Spending the money on something comfortable is vital.

Rungstead Golf Club is situated in Copenhagen and is designed by the brother of the Augusta National Club (The Masters Course) course designer.

Llanwern’s Next Top Super Model

Believe it or not, Wales Golf recently asked me if I would like to be a model for some of their new 2020 marketing material… I didn’t know they sold balaclavas!

Jokes, I was asked if they could come and take some photos of the HoodGolf School initiative that has started. As seen below they actually didn’t have to Photoshop me, which I was well impressed with!

I have been working closely with Wales Golf for a few years now and this year along with Sports Development of Wales and Newport Live we brought my idea of The HoodGolf School initiative to life.

This is something that I love doing as golf has given me back so much throughout the years, it's given me a job for life through meeting Steve as a young boy, I’ve met so many wonderful people who have become my lifelong friends and of course you lovely bunch of members and clients, it has built up my self-esteem and confidence, my social interactions, kept me fit and active and has made me the person I am today, so I owe golf everything! My mission is to expose around 100 plus new golfers into the game by running sessions throughout local schools.

The games played are easy and super easy to succeed at, this allows children to achieve a feel-good factor about themselves which creates pathways into the sport and hopefully become life long members at Llanwern Golf Club.

Now I’m just waiting for Vogue Magazine to give me a call….
