Pro's Day is filling up!

Don’t forget our Family Fun Pro’s Day (Saturday 20th July) is filling up fast so don’t forget to book your tee time today! It is open to members (£7.50) and visitors (£15) so if you know someone bring them along and get them involved. It is a team of 4 event with an Irish theme plus a beer tent / Irish Pub on the course!

Fancy dress is optional but we want to see the wackiest Irish costumes you have (or just wear a green polo shirt) Please come on down and support this great event. We have a huge prize table and some fun competitions throughout the day.

Scottie's juniors making a splash

This week Scotties Juniors had a SPLASHING TIME! After their hour-long Saturday morning golfing session Scottie swapped the golf balls for WATER BOMBS!

The juniors absolutely loved their surprise and they had so many giggles and laughs (take a look at the videos).

Then onto Sunday where a lot of Scottie's group took their first steps on to the BIG Course! Some played 4 holes while the others just played 2.

Scot is absolutely buzzing to see the development of his juniors and is trying his best to raise money to buy them all a polo shirt.

Scot: ‘thank you, everyone, who has donated to the junior fund, I truly appreciate it! Donations as little as £5 are still welcomed in the pro shop to buy this amazing group a Llanwern logo under armour polo shirt’

Men's Open Results

What a cracking couple of Open events we had last week! We would like to say a Really BIG Thank You to all of the volunteers who did a great job of registering, starting, serving beer in the beer tent, collecting money for charity and everything else (that I might have forgotten!). Thank you for helping and supporting your club.

Grouse on the road fires an ace

Everybody’s favourite Past Captain and fulltime travelling golfer John Linton had a hole in one last week on the 12th at Enmore Park playing in the South Wales Coast Captains against Somerset. John tickled a three-wood into the hole on the 200-yard par 3 for the pleasure of buying two bottles of Port for everybody!

Well done John Boy.

Hands up...

...if the only time you 'practice' your wedge play is when you hit a few shots at the start of your warm-up routine? Sadly, this isn't going to lead to a dialled in wedge game, which is one of the fastest ways to see your scores come tumbling down.

1 club. 3 swings. 3 distances.

Sounds easy, right? Well, it could be but first there are two things you must do in order to start saving shots.

1. Correctly gapped wedge system - What we mean by this is having an equal gap between each club in your bag, so you're never left trying to 'manufacture' a shot on the golf course (this is where large numbers start).
