Sad News
It has been a sad couple of weeks for the Llanwern family. It is with great sadness that we have to advise you of the passing of Mr John Hall, Mr Tim Murray and Mrs Christine Pobjoy. All three were fantastic members of Llanwern Golf Club and will be sadly missed by us all.
I have known them for over 30 years and can say what great people they were. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families at this very sad time.

Alignment Sticks
Practise like the professionals with a set of alignment sticks. If you are looking to improve your golf in 2019 these simple things could be the answer. A lot of golfers don’t actually know what they can be used for so let me introduce them to you.
These sticks have a never ending list of useful drills which if you know how can dramatically improve motor skill patterns in your swing. Some uses for them include, alignment, ball position, Swing Plane, Angle of Attack, Swing Path, Putting, Trajectory control, Chipping (stop the dreaded scoop), start line and the list goes on and on.
In the picture shown a client of mine had been struggling with the pivot in his backswing. You can see how I placed the alignment stick through his belt loops which gave him a great visual for how his hips and pelvis was functioning in the backswing.
If you want some more tips and ideas on how these can help with your particular swing issues pop in the shop or book a lesson today click here!

Do people finally respect Molinari? Ryder Cup hero, Major champion, European Tour Golfer of the Year, Race to Dubai Champion, oh, and now Arnold Palmer Invitational winner thanks to a monster 44-foot putt on the 18th. To say Italian Francesco Molinari has been hot property for the last 12 months would be an understatement, and a two-shot victory at Bay Hill on Sunday only went to confirm his status within world golf. A bogey-free eight-under 64 mirrored Rory McIlroy’s final round in 2018 when the Northern Irishman went on to win the tournament by two-shots and this time it was Molinari’s turn to repeat that feat. 2018 was undoubtedly Molinari’s breakthrough year but ahead of this year’s majors, we want know who you think will rise to the occasion in 2019 and break their major duck; head over to our website to have your say. Enter our poll. Quiz time Who was the last American to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational? For a bonus point, can you name the year? There are no prizes, simply for fun and a well-deserved pat on the back if you get it right.

Motocaddy has always been at the forefront of trolley innovation, with the world's first GPS electric trolley amongst their ranks. Well, this year they’ve made some significant upgrades to the immensly popular S1 model, which we think you're going to love. |
| New Motocaddy S1 electric trolley (2019) |
|
We don't like using the term 'entry level' to describe the new S1 as it offers so much more than what this suggests. At first glance, you'll take a liking to its modernised styling and graphics, which will really help make it stand out from other trolleys on the market. Then you get to its technology: new and improved sunlight-friendly LCD display, nine speed settings, advanced battery meter so you needn't worry about it running out mid-round without knowing, and a super-lightweight Lithium battery to name but a few. The new S1 for 2019 is as good as it gets at this price point, so pop in-store to take a look and get one in your hands. |
