New Practice Nets and how they can help your swing.
Work is coming along nicely on the new practice nets. All being well they will be ready for the weekend to give you two bays to use before your round for a warm up or to work on your swing.
Did you know that the best way to change a motor skill pattern/ swing change is to practice without seeing the ball flight. I love encouraging my clients to practice into a net ideally with air flow balls. There are several reasons this is such a great way to practice.
When you can see the balls flight and feel the strike (good or bad) you instantly become result orientated meaning you are not focusing on the process of changing the motor skill as much as you should. If the first shot or two don’t provide you with the desired outcome it is all too easy to slip back into the old pattern.
By taking away the ball flight and the strike of a real ball and using an airflow ball it allows you to focus on the movement pattern you are working on and it becomes a process focused practice session opposed to a reactive result orientated one. Time is becoming an ever decreasing commodity in everybody’s lives so remember to practice smarter and not harder and enjoy your golf more by playing better golf.
