Tap Tap Taparoo in 2019
Widely renowned as the most important club in the bag, the Putter is where countless shots can be saved. Therefore finding the right one for you is imperative and because there are so many options and styles to choose from.
Well we are here to help a quick and simple putter fitting will get you ‘tap tap taparooo’ing’ into 2019!! The important fitting consists of shaft length, head type and of course YOUR PREFENCES!
- The Shaft Length – This will dictate your posture and where your eyes are at address. Getting this right will help you monitor putter face alignment.
- Head Design – ideally the head design should suit your swing arc. Did you know that a mallet putter offers extra stability?
- Your Preference - Confidence is key, you will need to like the shape, finish and sightlines on the chosen putter, as well as the weight. Only that way will you gain the confidence you need to hole the putts you want to.
So with that in mind let’s take an in-depth look at what putters arrived in the shop!
|
First up the Odyssey StrokeLabs– the new 2019 odyssey StrokeLab features 10 different shapes (six mallets and four blades). The putters have a new white hot microhinge insert which enhances feel.
However the interesting technology lies in the new shafts, which are designed to improve your stroke through a change to the swing weighting distribution. A half graphite shaft with a steel tip means that they are heavier than usual which odyssey quotes ‘it gives greater consistency in the backswing, face angle at impact, ball speed and ball direction’.
A great range of putters, which have already caught the eye of many members.
|
Secondly the New 2019 PING SIGMA 2 - The 10-model Sigma 2 family is designed for the golfer who prefers a putter on the softer side of the spectrum with the lively response of a firm face. Plus, a newly designed adjustable-length shaft comes standard on every putter in the line. Our studies show 8 of 10 golfers are playing the wrong-length putter, and that consistency improves when you can customize the length for your stroke and posture. |
