Club news

90th Anniversary Limited Edition

Our highly anticipated (mainly due to design changes to the logo) limited edition 90th Anniversary gear will be in the shop available to purchase from Monday 26th November.

We have polo shirts, hats, beanies, ball markers, head covers, towels and more for you to choose. These will make excellent Christmas presents and a great keepsake from 90 glorious years of our dear Llanwern Golf Club.

Be quick though as we don’t anticipate these hanging around long!

New Upgrades

Great news if you haven’t already heard, we have started work on extending our practice net by the putting green and it will soon be revamped with a couple of upgrades including new netting, new mats and an extra bay for you to have a cheeky little warm up before you play.

For others that this doesn’t apply to you will be pleased to hear the bar will still be open for a warm up of a different kind before your round!

LGC go viral!

Lllanwern have gone viral with a video on twitter that course manager Gareth and club manager Julian filmed last week. So far it has received nearly 9000 views from people all across the world.

If you haven’t already seen it click here to find out what it’s all about. it will also explain why certain areas of the course sometimes get wetter than others.

Scotties been busy this week studying

Everybody’s favourite Scottie is away this week at The Belfry completing his final year residential towards his PGA qualification. He will be learning and upskilling in all areas including, golf coaching, business, sports science, equipment tech and more.

We will let you know in next week’s news how he got on!

Save the course! - Winter wheels

It really does make a difference when you use winter wheels on your electric trolleys. It stops the wheels spinning on the wet ground and prevents huge skid marks (no jokes please!!).

It is a club policy to have these on your electric trolleys and we kindly ask you to comply with this to help keep the course in the condition we are accustomed.

Winter wheels can be fitted for as little as £29.99 in the pro shop.

New balls, please

Sometimes we can overlook the small details. Take your golf ball for example; you might be getting by on picking any old ball from your bag, but have you ever wondered just how much of a difference a brand new golf ball will make to your overall performance?

Believe it or not...

Tour professionals change their ball every three to four holes - some even after every hole - so why would you want to use a golf ball that you found on the course sometime last year, that has been from tree to tree with the scuff marks and discolouration to prove it?

Here's the answer...
