Pro’s Day is here It’s nearly here and the nerves are starting to kick in. I forget every year how much work has to go in behind the scenes to hopefully make the day a success. Without the help and support of Scot, Kev, the beer tent barmaids and my family the day would not be possible so I would like to say a big thank you to everybody in advance. Lastly a massive thank you to our amazing members and guests who really support this event every year, it really does mean a lot. Right, onto the itinerary for the day and some exciting announcements. - First off (as some of you already know) I am delighted to be able to tell you that we have a new Professional Catering team and their amazing breakfasts will be available on the day from 8.30am. The delicious full menu will be available all day until 8pm and
the pictures show how good the food is. It’s great to hear so many people talking positively about it already. Myself and Scottie are speaking from experience and I reckon if Scot carries on eating their food like he has this week he might even put some weight on! I would like to wish Craig and Carl the very best and hopefully everybody samples their amazing food throughout the day and night and really supports them going forward.

- First tee off is 8.30 and last tee off is 2.40 so all being well we are aiming to do the presentation at 7.15pm. Hopefully you will be staying with us and enjoying a few bevvies in the sun during the day and party with us at the After ‘Golf’ Party late into the night.
- The ‘After (Golf) Party” is FREE and goes on late (ish!) into the night (last orders 11.30pm) with fantastic music and loads of fun. Fancy dress is encouraged this year on the course and at the After Party! We encourage you to bring family and friends down to make it a great club night. Being a member of a club is all about the friendships, socialising together and most important of all having FUN! We also have stand up sit down bingo and a raffle with some great prizes.
- As we are celebrating our 90th Anniversary the Fancy dress theme (optional) for the day and night is from the 1920s or anything remotely old fashioned!
We look forward to welcoming you all on Saturday, see you then… |

Dan the Man… Once again, our juniors have been a shining light on the Junior golf scene in Wales. This time it was Junior Captain Dan Bearcroft’s turn! Our Juniors have been playing in the South Wales Boys Championships at Tredegar Park this week. Dan put in sterling performance all week and made it to the final but unfortunately lost on the 18th to Euan Phillips in what was a thrilling final with some fantastic golf being played. Well done Dan from myself, Scottie, Kev and everybody back at the club. We are all proud of you.

Hard work paying off in the Gibson Cup Click here to see the results from last Sunday's Gibson Cup. It’s great to see some strong performances from Crunchie and Gareth Cueto in the Gibson Cup who both put a lot of effort into their games. Crunchie, who recently had a new set of Custom fit Callaway Apex irons, said he hasn’t shot over par since getting them (we can’t promise new irons will have the same results for all of you, however!). Gareth hasn’t been playing that long and is a great student of the game. He is a great example of how having regular lessons and practicing correctly can help your game. He has even gone to the trouble of setting up a net in his garage to help his progress and it certainly is paying off. He is now regularly playing team golf and even played for the seconds this week. Keep up the great work both. If you are interested in lessons or seeing how a custom fit could help your game please get in touch. Myself, Scottie and Kev are always here to help you with your game.

If you haven’t used a push trolley for a while then it’s definitely worth trying one in the not too distant future. In years gone by they were made of metal and were heavy to use, but that couldn’t be further from the truth with today’s lightweight options. |
Nice and easy This BIG MAX IQ+ 360 push trolley is a great option and tips the scales at just 6.3kg, which makes it effortlessly easy to push so you remain full of energy to the end of your round. As well as its lightweight frame, it boasts a 360-degree front wheel so you can steer it to any spot with ease (watch our video to see for yourself), plus a handbrake and a spacious console that has room for all of your valuables and accessories. If the white frame in this photo isn't to your liking, the IQ+ 360 is also available in black as well as black and red. |
