Scottie’s Latest Belgian Blog On to Belgium next where I hear that a crisp pint of Stella Artois is to die for.... so myself and Jack arrived in the town of Nivelles after narrowly missing out in Switzerland and the US Open Qualifier at Walton Heath where we got to mingle with the big lads such as Harrington, Westwood, Olesen and of course the people’s favourite BEEEEEF! So we headed to a beautiful golf club called L’Empereur Country Club where we were greeted by everyone on the range asking Jack how his US Open Qualifying experience went before heading out to do some on the course practice with Team Wales (Stuart Manley , Rhys Enoch and Rhys Davies). Brilliant to see the welsh lads enjoying themselves together, having some banter and a couple of quid on the game which Jack took! Thursday came and it was GO TIME! Jack played very steady throughout the competition and made a vital eagle on the 15th to make the cut, a driver followed by a 215 yard 5 iron to 2 foot. I was speechless, as soon as he struck the ball he looked at me, smiled and said “that’s good hoody boy” and indeed it was! He replicated the same shot on the final day with the same club after knocking it in 5-under par on the back 9 which included a bogey! I could only applaud and this give Jack great confidence going home to relax and recoup ready for his next adventure. I’ve had a wonderful few weeks with Jack and met so many brilliant people which I gained a lot of experience from! Until the next adventure I wish you all a wonderful weekend and it will be lovely to see you all. Keep your eyes peeled for next week’s article regarding how important it can be picking the right wedges and how efficient they can be to your game.
