The Llanwern Juniors Team embark to Portugal. We have been inundated last week with questions from members about the recent fantastic achievements of our Juniors. I can happily now provide you with a really detailed insightful look into their week away which was excellently written by Louann Rowberry (Daffyd’s mum) while she was there supporting the boys. Grab a cuppa and enjoy the read. After months of preparation, the moment has finally arrived and we set off to Portugal for sunshine and golf. Let’s reword that, rain, windburn and golf. Weather on arrival was shocking. The golf is sure to be off. No, donning wet gear, the practice rounds go ahead. Boys are in high spirits though. Day 1. First days practice round on the Alamos Course. This is a very tight course with plenty of water hazards and out of bounds. The boys enjoy the practice rounds on this course despite the fact that there is a monsoon whilst they are playing the front nine and everyone is wet through. Later on we head off for welcome drinks and canapés, where we hope to try and size up the opposition. Click here to read the rest of Louann’s blog.
