Competition Result

Click here for results of last Sunday's Horace Palmer. Also a big congrats to Steve Corten for his awesome shot to two inches winning £88 in this week’s nearest the pin.

The remaining 2 men’s finals were played last Saturday. Pro Shop newbie Kevin Belcher beat Craig Bardsley in the Intermediate final with what sounded like a great match. In the other final Harold Meese & Nigel Ellul beat Tony Harrhy & Gary Shaw in The Thompsons in some testing conditions!

Dinner Dance

Come and join us for Llanwern Golf Club's Annual Dinner & Dance on Friday 13th October. The evening will be a formal (black tie) event featuring entertainment from the brilliant Tainted Love.

The evening will include a four course meal followed by coffee and mints. Tickets are available now from the club office for £30 per person. Make sure you get your ticket early to avoid disappointment.

Back in the Hood!

Big welcome back to Scottie who has just returned from a two week golfing holiday in Sunny Puerto Banus, Spain. I have to say he was greatly missed by everyone, most of all by me as it made me realise what a great job he does on a daily basis looking after all our members and customers.

It’s great to have you back Scottie!

Crunchie’s caddy blog

This is a brand-new feature that will be in the newsletter on a regular basis. It is an entertaining insight into life on the PGA European Tour following the ups and downs, highs and lows of Jack Davidson and dad Jonathon’s life on tour as Jack tries to make his way. I’m confident you are going to enjoy this new addition to the newsletter and I’m sure there will also be lots of terrible selfies too!

KLM Open 2017, The Dutch Golf Club, Netherlands

Hello all, welcome to Crunchie’s caddy blog, just a little report each week on the life of a caddy on hopefully the European tour and maybe more.
First tournament as a Pro for Jack is the KLM Open in Holland, Jack has been very fortunate to gain a sponsor’s invite into this event.

Day 1, leave LAX Los Angeles at 14.00hrs LA time, flight time 12 hours and land in Schiphol airport Netherlands 09.30hrs local time. Small issue with the luggage, it hasn't arrived, 1 hour later all suit cases and golf clubs arrive and we are off. Luckily a courtesy car has been arranged for us and we are escorted to a brand new Volvo D90, very nice, now we head on the road for a 1 hour 15mins car journey to The Dutch golf club.

On arrival at the club, Jack has to sign in the European Tour tournament office and register himself as a professional golfer, exciting times. During his registration all the week passes are given out, I get my caddy pass and my information sheet for the week.
