Joining Jack in LA for the Walker Cup will be mum, dad, sister Bethan and his girlfriend.

Long-time club member Dave Harrhy will also be making the trip across the pond, which is fantastic at such short notice.

I’m sure the local support will spur him on.

I think I can speak for everybody on Twitter as well and say I cannot wait for #crunchonthecourse and all of the inevitable terrible selfies!

Charity Day

August Bank holiday weekend and sunshine can only mean one thing. The clubs annual Ty Hafan charity day where over £1600 was raised on a very enjoyable day for all. I managed to get out on the course as well for a change and even managed get in on the prizes! Winning teams were;

1st - Jon Tayler Construction
2nd - Nash Cons Club
3rd - All Llanwern (did I mention I was in the prizes!)

I would like to say a massive thank you to all that helped make it a successful day especially the ladies at the beer tent keeping everyone well hydrated!

Just like Buses

You go all your golfing career without a hole in one then two come along in three weeks! Llanwern’s most skilled (luckiest!) member, Brian Trendell, recorded his second ace in only 3 weeks.

Playing at Builth Wells last Sunday he got his second ‘hole in one’ of the month on the 136 yard par three, 15th hole.

Unlike last time when he used his driver, this time his PW was all it took.

Well done Brian, I am expecting you to win nearest the pin this Sunday!

The countdown has begun

Baileys looking fresh
