Pro's Day Saturday dawned with a heavy sky and threats of showers followed by sunshine and even more heavy showers, but this didn’t deter over 150 entrants of the annual Pro’s Day. A Spanish theme chosen after Jack Davidson's success this year in the Spanish Amateur was embraced by many players turning up in fancy dress and taking on the challenges of each hole from teeing off with an old classic 3 wood like the ones used by Seve in his early years to nearest to the Pin-Yata on our short but testing 13th. Winners with 128 points were The Benidorm Wasps consisting of D Lee, M Phillips, T Mellons and P Gerada, beating off Cucha Del Mono scoring 123 points, consisting of R Tayler S Cameron N Thomas and S Taylor. Prizes for the top 5 teams and a prize for all the holes were awarded in the evening function after a great day and evening were had by all. Special thanks to all the amazing sponsors, who without their help these days could not happen. A special mention has to go to my good friend Neil Plow who claimed the title of worst tee shot on the 1st whose ball actually somehow ended up in the Pro Shop! Jack Davidson and Lewis Brown did an amazing job on the 18th in the ‘Meet and Beat’ challenge. Lewis was saving penalties and Jack was taking on challengers in a nearest the pin comp to help raise money for the remainder of his 2017 season. Well done boys a great effort. We raised over £600 for Cancer Research on the day from the generosity of our members and guests. Thank you all so much for this it really does mean a lot. Finally I would also like to say a massive sincere thank you to Scottie, Kevin and all of the volunteers on the day who helped make the day such a success.
