Captain's Drive-In

This Sunday was Mr Captain's (Alan Fletchers) Drive in and what a great day it was! From gorgeous weather to a brilliant turn out accompanied by some excellent golf. Mr Captain played exceptionally well and finished 1st (honest!) with Steve Edwards finishing in 2nd place on count back and 3rd place was James Savastano. It was a lovely day enjoyed by all and the celebrations continued well into the evening!

  

   

Llanwern's Junior Masters

Forget Augusta, this Sunday was all about the Llanwern Junior Masters! We had a fantastic turnout for one of the Junior Majors of the season, where our juniors play for the famous Llanwern Green jacket! It was played in glorious sunshine and playing in her first ever full Junior Comp, Lottie Raymond showed the boys how to do it with some fantastic golf to win the coveted prize!!!

Jack The 'Llanwern' Lad

It wouldn't be a proper newsletter unless Jack has been making headlines again and this week is certainly no different as Jack continues to go from strength to strength in 2017.

This past week he has been invited to join the group of golfers being considered for selection in the Great Britain and Ireland team to face the United States in the Walker Cup at Los Angeles Country Club in September, an incredible achievement. Craig Watson, GB & I Captain said;

"Jack has been playing exceptional golf recently and his invitation to join the squad reflect his excellent results he has achieved so far this season".

The Walker Cup Squad will gather at Royal Lytham next month ahead of the Lytham Trophy which starts on 5th May.

Hole in One!

Congratulations to one of our Lady Members - Ann Payne who had a hole in one on the 2nd hole during last Tuesdays Ladies Competition.

Congratulations Anne a great achievement.

I think the pictures say it all. So early in the season and Gareth and the team have already got the course looking fantastic.

Callaway Demo Day

On Tuesday we held our Callaway Demo Day, with 10 people enjoying the Custom Fit experience being fitted for some brilliant clubs.

Everyone experienced significant gains during their fit which is great!

Bailey's First Visit To The Club

Just in case you were missing the little fella as he wasn't in last week's edition! Bailey the Dog made his first appearance at the Club last week. He was very well behaved and adored by all. Thankfully there were no puppy messes in the shop! I'm sure he will be back to visit us soon.
