Greetings golfers,

This week Scottie is reviewing the brand new Callaway Mack Daddy Forged wedges and explaining the importance of getting the loft on your wedges correct to ensure a consistent distance gapping. This is what Scottie had to say.

"At first glance these wedges have a classic timeless appearance. What immediately catches the eye are the 4 blue port holes located at the back of the wedge, these ensure optimum ball flight and consistent spin rates across the entire wedge range. As soon as I hit these wedges they felt super soft because of the precision forging. To ensure consistent gapping between your wedge set up we offer extensive loft and bounce options throughout the entire range of these wedges! Two finishes are available Nickel Chrome - with a copper stroke mark for a refined look and Brushed Slate - For a raw look."

Unsure you have the right wedges for your game, call in for some Professional advice and see how we can help you enjoy better golf in 2017.

Next week the PING Glide 2.0 will be trial and tested by one of the members!

MOT your game

Do you know the importance of re-gripping?

Sometimes these days the golf grip is seen by many purely as a fashion accessory and less consideration is given to making sure they have the correct size and material. As with all components of the golf club the grip should be fitted to suit each individual’s needs.

Why Re-Grip? ...  Over time golf grips naturally wear out and deteriorate due to factors such as temperature, dirt, oils from your hands and how tightly you hold the club. Re-gripping is also essential to make sure the correct size and materials are used.

When should I Re-Grip?... Some of the leading grip manufacturers recommend that grips are changed after 30-40 rounds or annually, whichever is sooner. Grips should also be changed when they become smooth and shiny, start to crack or begin to fade and show wear. Call in the shop for a free grip MOT and to get your hands measured to see if you are using the right sized grips for your game.

New grips cost as little as £4.50 (fitted) each. We also have a special deal in February where you get 10% discount if you get 9 or more clubs re-gripped.

Surprise Visitor to The Golf Theatre

Last week I had the pleasure of welcoming my extra cute Goddaughter Zara Grace to The Golf Theatre!!

Dad Haydn was having a lesson whilst Zara Grace was taking full advantage of the Lazy Boy reclining, leather seats we have. I have to be honest though, I think Zara Grace got more attention than her dad during the lesson!! Can you blame me?!

Pros news

Scot is away at the Belfry with the PGA

I enjoyed my time away at the Belfry on my yearly residential and got to meet so many wonderful Golf Professionals from all over the UK and overseas, we covered business studies, golf coaching, equipment technology and sports science.

The one that I throughly enjoyed was equipment technology and the custom fit .

Why? Because I love to see members/ customers get better results instantly and for them to see it for themselves is even better.

Club fitting is essential if you want to improve your golf - we can tailor a golf club to suit your personal swing and together we check the results to make sure everything works for you!
