'The Golf Theatre' - Members VIP Invite Event 10th December 10.30-3.30pm
The Golf Theatre is one of the most exciting new developments at Llanwern Golf Club in recent time!! I have been extremely hard at work to make it one of the best indoor facilities in the country. My aim is to provide a VIP experience every time somebody steps foot in the facility for a coaching session, a custom fit or for some indoor golf simulation fun.
Come and join us for a fun filled day where you can have a tour of the brand new facility at your own club, learn about the brand new technologies we have at Llanwern and how they can help your game. Have a go yourselves and Play in Nearest the Pin and longest drive competitions with chances to win great prizes, enjoy refreshments and get to meet the Professional staff.

Guess Who Two!
Another week another Guess Who!
To give you a clue this weeks picture was taken in the summer of 2010 when I worked at Dewstow and the Ryder Cup was flown in via helicopter whilst doing a tour of Wales. Last weeks winner was Ann Harrison who was first in the shop with the correct guess of Llanwern legend Steve Hewitt.
Same rules this week, first person in the shop with the correct answer wins a freshly ground Costa Rican bean hot coffee.
Perfect for this cold weather!

As I'm sure you are all aware winter is officially here as shown by the temperature in Course managers Gareths car on his way to work yesterday.

Get Outdoors
As some of you know I like to keep (relatively!!) fit running, playing five a side and mountain biking. Sometimes people forget how physically demanding a round of golf is. Often walking up to 6 miles over undulating terrain, taking large amounts of concentration can be quite draining. It is important that to play your best you need to be physically fit.
One of my particular favourites at this time of year to stay fit is mountain biking around Wentwood. It really is beautiful up there and only five minutes away from Newport. Last year on a particularly interesting route (I got lost!!!) I was fortunate to see a stag up there which was incredible. If you haven't been recently you really should check it out especially as the golden autumnal leaves will all soon be gone.
Rhi's South African Adventure
Lucky for some!
Rhiannon is off on holiday today to Africa to stay with her boyfriend Val's parents in Maputo Mozambique.
Whilst there they are heading off on safari in Swaziland and then going across to South Africa to play golf in Nelstruit then off to Highland gate in Dullstorm.
Have a great time both and you are only allowed to spend your 6 month bonus on wine and steak not shoes!
Another Trophy
Jill Joseph, Glamorganshire County Captain presented Llanwern member Chris Harries our Ladies First Team Captain, with the shield for winning Division 3 East of the Glamorganshire and Monmouthshire League at Whitchurch Golf Club on Monday 28th November.
The Ladies First Team have been promoted to Division 2.
Congratulations ladies a great season.

The Changing face of golf
On Monday 5th December at 6pm we are holding a Members briefing session on this subject.
This will give you the opportunity to see the recent presentation (Pathway to Success) about the changing face of golf and what this means to Llanwern GC. It will also include the recommendations that were approved by the committee. Please come along and support securing the future of Llanwern.
