Gareth and the team and working tirelessly at the minute trying to keep on top of the annual leaf migration from tree to ground. Please be assured that the majority of their focus is in trying to keep the leaf disruption to an absolute minimum to allow you to enjoy your golf as much as possible.

Like many other top clubs in the country the Winter wheels only policy on electric trolleys started on November 1st. Please observe this policy when playing to protect the course as much as possible during the winter. 

The reason for the winter wheels policy is because of recommendations by the STRI (Sports Turf Research Institute) and BIGGA (British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association) and as such the club have introduced the policy. 

We understand that this October has been exceptionally dry and that is the reason the two seater buggies are still being allowed out. This is reviewed on a daily basis. The 2 seater buggies also do not wheel spin like electric trolleys. 

Although it has been exceptionally dry it was decided that the club would still keep the date of the 1st November as was last year. We would appreciate if everybody would kindly adhere to this policy.

- The winter path installation program is on-going. Please use these new paths wherever possible.

- New White Lines - (Please do not cross these!) The painted white lines around the course are there to protect the key playing surfaces as much as possible. Gareth has stated that if players keep to the rough as much as possible during the winter months so the better the playing surfaces will be in the spring and summer next year. Sometimes the white lines fade or get washed away. Please try to remember where they were and stay in the rough where possible. 

 

Titleist 917 doesn't disappoint 

Last week we were lucky enough to have one of Titleist's main fitting staff visit us to undertake some in depth on site training on the new product. 

It was fascinating to learn all about the new range and at the end of it I couldn't wait to get my hands on it to try.

I have been looking forward to testing this driver more than any other in recent years and I have to be honest it didn't disappoint. There have been so many good drivers released recently and this is certainly up there with the very best.

It looks beautiful, not overly large with a real classic timeless shape to it. When you sit it behind the ball it just looks like it wants to be hit!! It doesn't stop there either as the sound in my opinion is better than both the previous 913 and 915 models. This change in sound has been inspired with feedback from tour players requesting that it sounded more like the 910 driver. It is often said that if it sounds right then it feels right and it certainly felt right!

Room Hire 

Last week we hosted the South Wales and the West Roadshow for Club Systems. The feedback we had from Club Systems and the attendees was fantastic so much so Club Systems have said they will be hosting all of their future business days here which is great news for the club. 

I would like to thank Julian, Liana and all of the team for looking after them so well.
