Green Keepers Winter program
This week Gareth and his team have started their winter work on the golf course. To begin with they are starting to lower the 14th tee box and remove the sleepers. The 13th hole will therefore be out of play for a while so the work can be completed. They are also putting in place some hardcore paths leading to the teeing areas. Keep up the hard work guys can't wait to see the 14th tee once its finished!

Winter Wheels 

Want to be able to use your electric trolley all year round? 

Here at Llanwern as well as many other golf clubs we have a Winter Wheel Policy, so that throughout the winter months you are still able to use your electric trolley. 

The wheels are designed differently so that they reduce turf compression. In the traffic light course condition system it states when you can use winter wheels.  

These wheels are available in the shop and we will fit them free of charge.

New Website
Some of you may have seen myself and a photographer driving around the course last weekend taking photos. The reason for this is we are having a revamp of our online presence and having a brand new website built. The aim of this is to give the club a more professional appearance when peoples first point of contact these days with a golf club is often online. We want the website to reflect the quality of the course, club and facilities which at present we feel our current site does not do it justice. The new site will also contain more regularly updated info for you the member.

Owen competes in sunny Mexico
As you are aware Owen Edwards was selected to represent Wales in the World Amateur Team Championships in Mexico. Owen had three good rounds consisting of scores of 76, 70 and 72. He finished T69 out of 211 players, the Welsh team finished T25 out of 71 teams with a final score of 4 under par! Well done for everything this year Owen its safe to say you have had a pretty good year!

Congratulations to Llanwerns 1st team who won another trophy to finish of a fabulous golfing season! 

The team was: 

Jonathan 'Captain Crunch' Davidson, Jack Davidson, Julian Sansom, Phil Rees, Dave Barrell and Lee Arnold. 

They beat Radyr Golf club in te League Champions Match Final.
