Please come and support too I know the finalists will appreciate it.
Llanwern Ladies not to be outdone
The ladies first team have gained promotion to the second division of the Glamorgan & Monmouthshire league. They sealed the promotion with a halve away at Whitchurch. During the season they have incredibly only lost one match. Chris Harries first team captain would like to thank the team of Jo Waite, Carolyn Pritchard, Ann Harrison, Ann Booth and the two reserves Su Fen Fitzpatrick and Lyn Curtis for their commitment to the team this year. Also well done to Jo Waite on your hole in one on Charity Day.
Ladies Welsh Seniors Championship Round-up
Four Llanwern Ladies entered the Welsh Senior Championship at Radyr. Ann Booth, Chris Harries, Ann Harrison and Jo Waite. All four produced credible performances and congratulations to Chris on coming 4th overall, winning the best nett and being selected to represent Wales at the Senior Home Internationals in Scotland. Well done Chris in bringing even more International Honours to the Club.
Gwent v Gloucestershire
Sunday saw Gwent play Gloucester in the Channel League at Llanwern Captained by Jonathon (Crunchie) Davidson. The ten man Gwent team had 4 Llanwern members playing, Richie Tayler, Dave Barrell, Owen Edwards and Jack Davidson.
It was a tightly fought game with Gwent trailing 2 - 3 after the morning foursomes. A strong afternoon fightback saw Gwent claim victory 8.5 - 6.5 with Llanwern member Richie Tayler sinking the winning putt. Well done lads.
We also held a Pro Shop Stableford on Sunday which saw an impressive 43 points taking the spoils. Click here for full results.
Time for a change? “Why has every other piece of equipment in the golf industry evolved, except grips.” You may of seen recently the sudden popularity with Superstroke grips on tour as well as club golfers.
Over recent years they have become more popular but why is this?
One of the reasons is by having a parallel putter grips it helps even out grip pressure creating a more consistent stroke and more feel when putting. There are various sizes and colours to choose. I would recommend a more oversized grip for putters closer to face balanced.
The fatter grip will help take the hands out of the stroke and create a more enhanced pendulum to help create a straight back and through putting motion. Some golfers have a natural arc to their putting stroke so a smaller grips would possibly suit them better as it then offers slightly more rotation.
We have Superstrokes in stock and if we don't have the size or colour you want we can order in no problem.
“The best in the world are leaving conventional grips behind, are you?”

Thank you, Chris Doody.
