The annual Llanwern Golf Club Ty Hafan Charity day took place on Saturday with 26 teams taking part. The weather was a little drizzly in the morning but picked up for a nice dry afternoon. A big thank you goes out to all the sponsors and players for making the day a success.
We would also like to thank Wessex Garages and Ponthir Road Service Station for bringing some excellent cars for the members to have a look at. We would also like to thank everybody that took the time to help out on the day. Also from what I heard the food was brilliant so well done to Matt and his team!
The eventual winners were Crunchie (Jonathon Davidson!), Jack Davidson, Phil Rees and Tony Cook from Davlan Construction with a brilliant score. I think Jack having 9 gross birdies in a row certainly helped!!!
We are already looking forward to next year's event.
Unfortunately due to the heavy rain, last weekend's Homeguard Cup was abandoned. This will be replayed at the end of September instead of the Xmas Fayre.
The Xmas Fayre will be rearranged. The Homeguard entry money has been refunded to your club card and the twos and NTP money has been credited back to your shop account.
This Sunday we are holding a Pro Shop Stableford. Times are available on the computer between 7am - 8.30am and 10.30am and 1pm. Entry money is to be paid in the shop on the day.

I feel very lucky to be able to coach four of the 6 winners from the triangular tournament initiative devised by our Junior Organiser Paul White. Well done to everybody. Also a big well done to Megan Vinneal who helped Gwent win the Inter Counties and also secured the overall individual winners title.
Also you can see from the before and after images the excellent work being done by Val Graus (Rhiannon in the shops boyfriend) who is an aspiring Professional Golfer. Hard work and productive practice will always win in the end.
