Please click here for the results of last weekend's Gibson Cup. No 49 pointer this week but there was still some excellent golf played.
The Lady Captains Day was held on the 19th July (hottest day of the year!!) and was very much enjoyed by everybody. The winner with 36 points was Kath Gwatkin. Well Done Kath!

Rhi on the road
I'm sure most of you have now met Rhiannon our newest member of the shop team. Rhi's love of golf is infectious and she travels literally all over the country to play and watch. Recently she went to Woburn to watch the Ladies British Open. Below is brief description of her experience.
'I recently visited Woburn for the first day of the Ladies British Open Championship. After watching a few players down the first hole it is nice to know that even top level professionals don't get it out of the bunker on their first go! There were a few things that I noticed which separate top professional golfers from club golfers. From 100 yards in they were 90% of the time leaving themselves a makeable birdie putt, and if they were over 30ft from the hole with their first putt they would get it within 3ft of the hole 90% of the time. Eliminating 3 putts can really help the score drop down! I managed to see Laura Davies tee off the 18th, setting up with just an iron in her hand she split the fairway in half, it's nice to see that she has still got it!'

Backstage Passes
Last week Scot and I were lucky enough to have a behind the scenes tour of the Millenium Stadium. (I know it's now called the Principality but for most of us it will forever be the Millenium!!). We were visiting Under Armour to order our stock for next season in their incredibly impressive corporate hospitality suite.
The new range from Under Armour was nearly as impressive as the stadium!! Keep an eye out for the new UA ranges in store.
More international honours for the boys
Once again Owen and Jack have been out competing but this time a little closer to home.
Last week the boys pegged up in the qualifying round of the Welsh Amateur Championship at Southerndown. Both qualified for the match play stages, Owen finishing in 7th place and Jack in 21st. Jack won his first match 3&1 but unfortunately lost to Llewellyn Matthews in the second round. Owen won both his matches on extra holes and went on to win his quarter finals and semi finals match. In the final he was 4 down after 18 holes, but fought back well in the second round narrowly missing out on the title on the 18th.
A huge 'Well Done" to both boys who have been selected to represent Wales at the Home Internationals at Nairn Golf Club on the 9th-12th August.
This Sunday Llanwern are hosting the Gwent Team Championships and as a result the course is closed until 12:00pm.
We have put on a Pro Shop Stableford after this event with tee times available between 12.10pm and 3:00pm. Times can be booked as normal on the computer.
