Men's Results 

Some fine golf was played over the weekend in the Wooley Salver Trophy. The ever consistent Craig Bardsley was pipped at the post by the young up and coming (Big) Dave Cook. Please click here for the result.

Also well done to the 3rds this week who have started pulling their socks up with a fantastic 4-1 victory over local rivals the Celtic Manor!

Ladies Results 

Chris Harries and Jo Waite represented Llanwern last week in the Australian Spoons Regional Final at Creigau playing against 50 other pairs. They put in a fantastic performance and finished second. This ensured qualification to the all Wales final to be played at Cradoc on 2nd October. Well done both and good luck in the final. 

 

First Steps 

Well done to Rhiannon who took the first steps in her career successfully completing the Safeguarding and Keeping Children safe in Sport course last week. 

Well done Rhiannon I'm sure it will be the first of many.

 

Double Success for sisters 

Ffion Vinneal won the South Wales Girls Championships at Glyn Abbey with a gross 75 beating a strong field and her younger sister Megan, won the South Wales Girls Under 12s Championships also played at Glyn Abbey.

Both Sisters are in the Golf Union of Wales Squads and play for Wales. I have been fortunate enough to coach both sisters and their elder brother Owen for over 10 years now and it has been an absolute pleasure to watch them all grow, develop, improve and most importantly see the enjoyment they get from the game. I feel very lucky to be in a position to help this amazing family. Massive credit also has to go to their parents Jo and Dave, like so many other parents, they do a brilliant job in supporting them and providing the best taxi service around!!

It is very satisfying to be able to help young and older golfers alike to help them enjoy this great game. To be a tiny part of their success makes me feel very privileged and for that I am extremely grateful.

Hole in One for the Pro 

Well done to a Professional that I coach Kristian Crane for achieving his first Career Hole in One in the Welsh PGA Championships at Tenby. 

Peter Malpas 

Also well done to Peter Malpas being selected for Gwent to play in the Schools Welsh Team Championships. 

 

Pros Day & Hog Roast 

Tee times for the Pros Day on the 16th July have now sold out!! Thank you to everybody that has supported this event and hopefully it will be a great day. The entertainment for the evening is being laid on by the golf club and sounds fantastic. It is a Hog Roast with all the trimmings and entertainment by InSync a brilliant duet who will get you all up partying. Tickets for the evening need to be purchased prior to the event and there are a limited number available so if you plan on staying for the evening be sure to pick up your ticket for only £10 from the office or Pro shop.

Thank you again to my Godson and best buggy driver/ caddie Ollie for the round on the Celtic Manor 2010 last Saturday.
