It's a knockout
The deadline for the club knockout matchplay competitions has been extended. The Captains (Singles), Thompsons (4BBB) and Harry Thomas (mixed foursomes) are all available to enter for club members with a current handicap. They are great tournaments and a fantastic way to meet new people if you are new to the club. Call us in the shop on 01633 413142 and we can enter you into these fantastic events.
Lookey Likeys @ The PM League Dinner
Last Friday saw the annual PM League dinner at the Club. The evening was expertly hosted by John Linton who delivered a fantastic Powerpoint presentation to a sometimes raucous audience!
Congratulations to the League winners Steve Savigar and Russell Hart who defeated the experienced pair of Lyn Bateman and Phil Tiso in a thrilling playoff. Savigar and Hart clinched it on the 7th extra hole.
One of the highlights of the evening was the Lookey Likeys section in Johns Presentation. Two of my favourites were the young Lewis Bee (Nicolás Otamendi) and James Watson (Gok Wan) . Uncanny resemblances....

It was great to see last week Llanwern members & Welsh Internationals Jack Davidson and Owen Edwards playing at the club with fellow Welsh players Paddy Mullins (Whitchurch) and Rhys Jones (Mountain Ash). These boys are some of the finest talent Wales and World Amateur golf has to offer and it was a pleasure having you at the club. We hope you had a great game lads and we wish you all the best for the coming season.
Your Club Needs You!
With the new season about to start our Halletts team is in desperate need of new players. If your handicap is 17.5 or higher and you want to play team golf then why not join us.
This season we will play at Newport, Whitchurch, St Mary's and Whitehall, an opportunity to play some great golf courses. Fees are £8.00 for home games and £10.00 for away games and as this includes a 2-course meal it represents great value. Furthermore all surplus funds are used to pay for an end of season meal and drinks! All our matches tee off at 5 p.m.
Interested players please see the Halletts board in the clubhouse for more details or contact myself or our captain Chris Mayhew, details below.
As a prelude to the season we will be holding a 12-hole stableford competition on Tuesday 5th April at 5.00 p.m. Why not come along.
