Hello and welcome to another Steve Truman Golf Newsletter.
It was great to see so many people at the club last weekend with the weather giving us a tiny break from the rain. Fingers crossed this is the beginning of the weather starting to turn around and golf can become a regular feature in our diaries once again!!
In this weeks newsletter: The Golf Theatre, New PING G Irons, equipment testers wanted and lads on tour down under.

New Stock & demo equipment
This week has seen us take delivery of the Brand new PING G Series demo irons. These in my opinion are the best looking Irons PING have produced in a long while. Good looks however are not the only thing these fantastic new irons can boast. Revolutionary COR-Eye Technology provides four times the amount of face flexing for consistently faster ball speeds across the hotter face. A gain in ball speed and shot height generates more carry distance and a steeper landing angle. A specialized heat treatment creates Hyper 17-4 stainless steel, allowing for thinner, faster faces to gain distance.
Also joining the iron range is a brand new driver, fairway and hybrid range. These however are not available to try until February. As soon as they do I will be sure to let you know so we can get you fit for them.
Click here to get in touch if you would like to be one of the first to try these out with a fitting here at Llanwern. This will ensure we get them on pre-order so they arrive at the first available date so you can be the envy of your golfing friends!!
Tune in next week to find out how custom fitted clubs can help your game.
We are looking for equipment testing volunteers for 2016
It's that time of year where lots of the manufacturers are launching new products in the market and I am looking for some golfers to volunteer to test them.
I would like some golfers from all handicap categories to give me their opinion on certain equipment and then write a review which will be published here in the newsletter.
If you would like to get involved please click here or contact one of the team.
Lads on tour down under
The boys have continued flying the Llanwern Flag Down Under this past week. They both played fantastically well to reach the matchplay stages of the Australian Amateur, one of the biggest amateur tournaments in the Southern Hemisphere. Both Owen and Jack reached the matchplay stages which in itself was a fantastic achievement as only 64 players out of the original 240 made it to this point. Jack unfortunately lost in the first round and after winning his first round match Owen narrowly lost his second round match.
I'm sure I can speak on behalf of all the members at Llanwern and say how proud we are as a club of their progress. By the look of the pictures it also looks like they have been integrating with the local wildlife too.
Cock of the North
In the Red League, Dave Barrell & Nathan Doherty overcame stiff opposition in their lucky win over Pobjoy and Fletcher . Mr Pobjoy (otherwise known as Baron of Beechwood) comprehensively outplayed Nathan Doherty but Dave Barrell managed to overcome Mr Fletcher in an impressive display of long drives and accurate putting. Nathan put his poor performance down to waking up in the wrong bed in the wrong hotel.

PM League
The two Joes ,Gibson and Howells also known as '#@#@ Shot Joes', have finally "won " their first points because Steve Roberts had to work and Dave Harrhy couldn't use his buggy ,so they had to concede!!!
In other PM news freezing cold Lewis Bee gratefully accepted Percy Plow's offer of an agreed half without getting out of the bar! This was much to the disgust of Max (Aron Ramsey lookalike) Fessey who wanted to play.

Winner of the Nearest the Pin last Sunday was Newports friendliest postman James (Holmsey) Holmes. £22 has been credited to your account!!
Another weekend and another four legged visitor to the shop.
Club mascot Baxter has got competition (Notice our clever product placement with the winter wheels!)
Have a great weekend and I hope to see you all at Llanwern soon.
