New Lady Captain

I would like to take this opportunity and extend a very warm welcome to our new Lady Captain Hazel Rudland. On behalf of myself, Scot and all the staff and members at Llanwern we wish you every success in the coming 12 months. I know you will do a fantastic job and represent the club fantastically. 

On a similar note I would like to thank the out-going Lady Captain, Alison Carter for all of her amazing efforts over the past year. You have done an exceptional job and we have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside you, having plenty of fun along the way!

Finally I would like to congratulate the appointment of Gill Johnson as the ladies Vice-Captain. With these three wonderful ladies at the helm, we can safely say the club is in great hands at the minute!!

Carol Service 

The Carol Service was a great success last Thursday and we would like to say a massive thank you to the amazing pupils of Llanwern High for their amazing performances. 

Mr Tim Forde (Club Captain) pictured didn't want to miss out but luckily for everybody in attendance didn't join in the singing!!

Sunday Lunches 

Commencing from December 20th delicious Sunday Lunches are now being served in the Clubhouse from 12.30pm.

Christmas Cocks! 

The now famous annual Christmas Cocks Lunch is still on this Sunday even if the course is closed. Please come down at 12 O'Clock (or earlier if you prefer!!!!) if the course is closed for some festive fun. Please come and support your club in this time of need!

Truman's Tips!

I know the weather has been pretty poor lately but the really keen golfers amongst us will have been making every effort to get out and practice at every opportunity. 

At times like this when your practice sessions are somewhat limited it is even more important to practice smartly and make the most of every session.

- Always make sure your sessions are FUN, specific, pressurised and measurable. 
- Remember we need to see if we are moving in the right direction with recorded stats. 
- Remember to always plan each session first then review it on completion.

Re-spiking service 

With the terrible weather recently the golf course is obviously very wet underfoot. 

If you haven't already, this is the perfect time of year to have your shoes re-spiked to avoid an ill timed slide down a bank on your backside. As amusing as it is for the playing partners to watch it generally isn't much fun for the victim. Next time you play be sure to check your shoes for the condition of your cleats. If unsure please pop in the shop and ask for some free Professional advice. 

This year has seen the release of our best selling hybrid cleat. This brand new design combines a cleat with a metal spike giving you the best of both worlds with maximum traction on the slippery slopes. 

We offer a quick turnaround for re-spiking in the Pro Shop and even clean your shoes at the same time at no extra charge. Check out the picture of a set of re-spikes I recently did.
